Hello, I'm Yupika ☀︎
In this post, I'll be sharing a story about my son's Coming-of-Age Day photo shoot, along with my very first attempt at creating a four-panel comic using a prompt I'd been curious about ✨ (Still practicing! 🤭)
Maki, I was able to make it too!
Thank you so much🙏✨
The other day, while I was visiting my hometown (it was a long stay, but it's almost over!)...
We did a pre-ceremony photo shoot for my son's Coming-of-Age Day.
Twenty, huh...
Looking at my son in his hakama, I felt a wave of deep emotion.
...or so it was supposed to be 🤭 But my son has always loved having his picture taken and being a bit of a goofball.
From elementary school all the way through high school, I loved photos so much that I'd casually blend into other classes' pictures... Even when everyone else was looking straight ahead, I was often the only one staring right into the camera.
Even during the pre-wedding photoshoot, my son kept looking over at me and making funny faces whenever the staff had a brief moment to adjust the hem of my dress or accessories 😂 Since the photo studio allowed us to use our smartphones during the shoot, I didn't hesitate to snap a picture 📱
I thought, "Alright, alright, you want a picture of me..." but since I love goofing around too, I ended up having a blast. 🤣 And whenever the photographer asked for a "serious face," a "smile," or a "cool pose"... I nailed every single one on the first try.
Even the photographer went, "Oh!
Nice, you're pretty good at this, man!
...he laughed. 🤣 Looking at my son, I couldn't help but think: he's turning 20 soon, but whenever he gets the chance, he makes a funny face and silently begs me to take a picture. Even though he’s all grown up now, as his mother, I still found him so adorable. 😊
↓ Here's a 4-panel comic about how that day went!
It was a day that reminded me that no matter how old they get, my children will always be adorable and deeply precious to me.
